The mission of the City of Aspen / Pitkin County Efficient Building Program is to increase the efficiency

of our local building industry in order to preserve our natural and human resources. Flexibility is built into the

program to accommodate a wide range of alternatives. This program strongly supports the concept of “closing

the loop” by requiring recycling and encouraging the purchase of recycled and recyclable materials. Energy

efficiency is a key component not only for the environmental benefits, but also to significantly reduce the

operating costs of the home. Another benefit of the Program is improved indoor air quality.

Through the EB Program, the City of Aspen and Pitkin County are striving to reduce the impacts

and waste in the building industry.
