Indoor Advantage is a certification for office furniture and seating that verifies there are little VOCs within the product. VOCs are harmful and lower the air quality which is a major concern within office buildings.

The VOC criteria for the Indoor Advantage™ certification are based on emission criteria established in the Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer's Association (BIFMA) Standard for Low-Emitting Office Furniture Systems and Seating (ANSI/BIFMA X7.1) and the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design criteria EQ4.5 (furniture and seating). The testing and certification insures that the product has absolute minimums for VOCs, hazardous materials and other indoor air quality agents.
