Welcome to allgreenratings.com! We strive to offer the most comprehensive list of green ratings and green certifications on the web. In an effort to promote the use of sustainable healthy living products and green building we want to tell the consumer the truth and background information behind each certification.

We understand that there are many green certifications for products these days and they can get confusing. That is why we created this independent database of certifications that is meant to teach and inform. Here at allgreenratings.com we not only offer the easiest, most user friendly green rating database on the web, we also offer the latest green news, green links and a green forum where we can all help each other out to live healthier, more sustainable lives.

We are proud to be independent and committed to showing the truth behind the certifications. We want this to be a place where everyone can come and share their knowledge about the ways that they live green and the products that they recommend. Because of the grassroots nature of this site we are open to any suggestions and if there is a logo or certification that you do not see featured, please let us know so that we can continue to help inform as many people as we can.

Let us know what you think, we are proud of the socially conscious community that we have brought together and are always looking to improve. If you have any suggestions, comments or would like to tell us about your experience email us at info@allgreenratings.com

Hi everyone and welcome to our website. My love for the environment is what inspired me to become involved with green building and renewable energy.  Some of my first memories of wanting to help the environment came from when I was in grade school. I always asked my mom to pack my lunches in brown bags because that’s what the other kids were doing. She told me that she wanted me to use a lunchbox and reusable containers so that I was not throwing away all of that extra garbage each day.  I quickly realized what she was talking about as I saw how wasteful my peers were.  Another memory I have is always breaking apart plastic six pack holders. I wanted to make sure I was doing my best to protect the wildlife that might come in contact with them and to this day I still find myself breaking them apart wherever I see one.

I have become involved in green building over the last few years. After taking an environmental science class in high school I learned how wasteful the construction industry is and how homes and buildings are one of the major reasons people get sick. I learned about all sorts of ways to make a home healthier, more energy efficient and run on alternative energy sources such as passive and active solar, wind and geothermal. I was able to put my knowledge to use after a house my family was planning on moving into burned down. We used the unfortunate circumstances to build a ‘green’ house that we are very proud of. We incorporated passive solar through efficient windows, solar attic fans, energy efficient appliances, lots of recycled materials and even geothermal heating and cooling.

I am currently a student at Michigan State University studying business and alternative energy engineering technology. I am fascinated by renewable energy, especially wind power and want to do my best in the future to help teach people the benefits of these incredible systems so that we can clean up the environment, save money and as a nation become energy independent.

I am hoping that this site will help others who are interested in living green have a better understanding of products and materials that they can use to live more sustainable, eco friendly lives. I am very interested in everyone’s experience so please feel free to contact me at info@allgreenratings.com or post on the forum so our community can benefit from your views. Enjoy

Green building and high performance building makes both environmental and business sense.  As the industry evolves, we believe that the free market can decide which certifications matter and which are just green washing.

Recently I graduated from The Wharton School with my MBA.  My interest and experience with green building includes earning my LEED AP Certification, working in the solar industry, co-leading the Wharton Energy Club as Co-President, and presenting on green building certification at the Initiative for Global Environmental Leadership (IGEL), a University of Pennsylvania Innitiative led by The Wharton School.

Prior to business school I founded the Shanghai office of a domestic private equity firm.  At night I froze in my drafty Shanghai apartment and cranked up the electric heaters; I quickly realized that without better building practices we would continue to consume an unsustainable amounts of energy.

In 2004 I worked for John Kerry as an Advance Man traveling the country.  On these trips I met hard working men and woman who are losing their jobs.  Green jobs can help us to revive local economies.

In 2002 I graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Economics and a BSE in Engineering.  After graduating I spent two years as a Business Analyst for McKinsey and Company.  My work there varied from operations to marketing to urban renewal.

Thank you for visiting our site, and we look forward to your thoughts.
